Keith Mitchell was born in Chattanooga, TN. Just out of high school, he started shooting photographs to document his travels. His interest in photography grew when he learned to use the view camera while assisting a well-known commercial photographer in shooting area landscapes. Now using a digital camera and a technique called High Dynamic Range (HDR), he is able to capture a greater range of tonal detail than is possible using film. Often the final photograph appears painted. In 2011, he was selected as one of three photographers to represent HDR photography for the annual Palate 2 Palette fundraiser. His most popular photographs are of Chattanooga area landmarks and scenery.
